Standardisation of protein feeding of battery hens

, : Standardisation of protein feeding of battery hens. Trudy Moskov. vet. Akad, 49: 156-161

The standard diet for battery hens had the percentage composition: yellow maize 36.7, barley 30.0, peas 14.7, sunflower meal 5.3, fodder yeast 4.0, fishmeal 2.0, shell grit 4.0, bonemeal 3.0 and salt 0.3. The effects were studied of replacing the fishmeal by more sunflower meal while maintaining the protein content at 16%, or of reducing the protein content to 14% by replacing part of the peas and sunflower meal by more cereal, with or without the fishmeal.
