Studies on the hybrids between triticale and wheat

, : Studies on the hybrids between triticale and wheat. Wheat Information Service, 31, 25-28

When grown in close proximity to triticale 64, the triticale strain Rudorf (8x = 56) gave 20.7% intervarietal F1 hybrids. Triticale 64 flowered 14-18 days earlier than Rudorf but the end of its flowering period coincided with the onset of flowering in Rudorf. Crosses have been made between triticale and short wheat varieties. The F1 hybrids were as tall as the taller parent. In 1965 crosses were made of triticale 57 and 64 with the dwarf wheat Tom Pouce.
