Studies on the variability of the principal agronomic characters in F3 hybrid populations of rice propagated by the generation-acceleration method

, : Studies on the variability of the principal agronomic characters in F3 hybrid populations of rice propagated by the generation-acceleration method. Journal of Taiwan Agricultural Research (Nung-yeh Yen-chiu), 19: 4, 11-17

The F2 of the crosses Taichung Native 1 x CP231, Chianung 242 x IR9-60 and C223 x Pi4 were grown by the generation-acceleration method and conventionally. In the F3, plants from the former method were slightly shorter, had more panicles/hill, and a great grain weight/hill than those cultivated conventionally.
