Studies on the vegetative growth and yield of Coscia pears treated with Cycocel

, : Studies on the vegetative growth and yield of Coscia pears treated with Cycocel. Riv. Orto-florofruttic. ital, 52: 684-92. bibl. 23

A single treatment with 0.5% CCC was applied to 3-year-old Coscia pear trees on Quince A on 6 June, 21 June or 6 July. The second treatment had the most inhibiting effect on growth. The first treatment had a temporary effect lasting less than 4 months. Each treatment approximately doubled the number of flower clusters produced in the following spring, without affecting the number of flowers per cluster. Fruit set was increased in proportion to the lateness of the treatment.
