Study by the De and Chatterje method of strains of Escherichia coli isolated from cases of diarrhoea of new-born calves

, : Study by the De and Chatterje method of strains of Escherichia coli isolated from cases of diarrhoea of new-born calves. Annls Med. vet, 114: 410-416

The serological types of E. coli responsible for calf septicaemia can be identified, but relatively little is known of strains associated with intestinal infection. Cultures of E. coli strains isolated from calves with diarrhoea were inoculated into ligated loops of calves, 2-3 days old, allowed or deprived of colostrum.
