Sugar beet induced zinc deficiency

, : Sugar beet induced zinc deficiency. Agron. J, 57: 509

When maize was six to eight inches high, stunting and chlorosis typical of Zn deficiency were evident on plots previously cropped to sugar beet and given no fertilizer Zn. Where sugar-beet tops were returned to the soil, deficiency seemed even more severe. No deficiency symptoms showed in plots where the previous crop was grain sorghum, or in plots where fertilizer Zn was given.
