The importance of coincidence in entomophagous insects with particular reference to certain parasites of Neodiprion sertifer (Geoff.)

, : The importance of coincidence in entomophagous insects with particular reference to certain parasites of Neodiprion sertifer (Geoff.). Dissert. Abstr, 27B: 9, 3132-3

A study of three parasites showed that Exenterus canadensis, which attacks late-stage larvae, has good spatial but imperfect temporal coincidence, that Villa sinuosa, a cocoon parasite, is well synchronized but shows imperfect spatial coincidence, and that the multivoltine cocoon parasite Pleolophus basizonus could be imperfectly synchronized in the first generation and show lack of spatial coincidence in all generations.

Tunicate blood cells are a mixed population, thus experiments that assay their immunodefense responses, such as release of hemagglutinins, were done to isolate different functional hemocytic types. Two sources of hemocytes from Styela clava were u...

One of the two forms is a full-length cDNA of 1614 nucleotides plus a poly(A) tail of 59 n...
