The use of transparent films for the propagation of ornamental shrubs by green cuttings

, : The use of transparent films for the propagation of ornamental shrubs by green cuttings. Bjull. glav. bot. Sada. 55, 56-63. bibl. 15

Cuttings taken in the summer from a large number of rose varieties gave a higher percentage of rooting in polythene-covered greenhouses or frames than in glass-covered frames. Cuttings of Lonicera periclymenum and Viburnum opulus var. sterile produced much larger root systems under polythene than under glass and the rooting of both species was about 30% higher under polythene.
