Trichinella spiralis: immune elimination in mice

, : Trichinella spiralis: immune elimination in mice. Experimental Parasitology 24(2): 243-250

Trichinella spiralis larvae in diffusion chambers with 0.45 mu pore size were implanted into the peritoneal cavity of mice and left for 1 to 7 days; the mice were challenged wrh 200 larvae one day after removal. Control mice received either diffusion chambers containing suspension fluid or were left untreated until challenge with 200 larvae. The number of recovered muscle larvae was inversely proportional to the length of exposure, until the 5th day of implantation.
