Demirsoyus n. gen. (Orthoptera, Acrididae, Oedipodinae) and D. salmani n. sp. from the Mediterranean Anatolia with remarks on biogeography of the related genera

, : Demirsoyus n. gen. (Orthoptera, Acrididae, Oedipodinae) and D. salmani n. sp. from the Mediterranean Anatolia with remarks on biogeography of the related genera. Transactions of the American Entomological Society 130(4): 425-437

The new genus Demirsoyus Sirin and Ciplak n. gen. (Orthoptera, Acrididae, Oedipodinae) and the new species Demirsoyus salmani Sirin and Ciplak n. sp. are described on the basis of specimens from Antalya in Mediterranean Turkey. The necessary illustrations are provided to support the descriptions. Relationships between new genus and closely related genera are discussed. Relationships between Aiolopus group genera are suggested to be Aiolopus + (Platypygius + (Epacromius + Demirsoyus n. gen.)). Finally, a biogeographic evaluation of the last three genera is presented, assuming their history to be related with tectonic evolution of Mediterranean.

There is increasing evidence that adenosine (ADO) and dopamine (DA) interact directly in the basal ganglia via actions at ADO A-2a and DA D-2 receptors, respectively. The purpose of this study was to determine 1) the extent to which these receptor...
