Oribatid mites of the family Cosmochthoniidae (Oribatei)

, : Oribatid mites of the family Cosmochthoniidae (Oribatei). Zoologicheskii Zhurnal, 596: 838-850

Cosmochthoniidae Grandjean is revised. On the basis of marked differences in sclerotization of the ventral body side and structure of long chaetae of notogaster, Trichthonius majestus Marshall and T. simplex Aoki were established as independent genera MARSHALLIA gen. nov. and NIPPONIELLA gen. nov., respectively. KRIVOLUTSKIELLA pubescens gen. et sp. nov. is described from the Grand Canary Island (Canary Islands), Spain. It differs from the known forms by biclawed tarsi of all legs, type of structure of long chaetae of notogaster, sclerotization of dorsal plate. New species of Cosmochthonius Berlese C. ponticus, C. tenuisetus, C. asiaticus and C. uqamaensis and new species of Phylozetes Gordeeva P. latifolius and P. osithchnjukovi are described from different regions of the USSR. Marshallia golosovae sp. nov. (Kunashir Island) Russian SFSR, USSR differs from M. majestus by the presence of sclerotized bridge on proterosome, length of chaetae on the dorsal armature and long chaetae of the notogaster. Keys are given for genera of the family and species of Cosmochthonius and Phylozetes.
