Studies on the classification of Punica granatum cultivars

, : Studies on the classification of Punica granatum cultivars. Journal of Nanjing Forestry University Natural Sciences Edition 30(4): 81-84

The process of pomegranate cultivar classification based on the International Horticulture Nomination Code is discussed. Classification based on petal characteristics, flower colour, fecundity, fruit colour, fruit size, and yield as the main considerations for classification, and seed hardness, shape of the calyx tube, and colour of the newly developed leaf, among other traits, as secondary considerations for classification is described.
