Diachronic remote analysis in the western Anti-Atlas, Tafraoute Massif and Jbel Lkst

, : Diachronic remote analysis in the western Anti-Atlas, Tafraoute Massif and Jbel Lkst. Mediterranee 42(2-3): 43-64

The article comments on an attempt of supervised diachronic classification and infographic cartography of a Landsat image, from two situations of an arid season and a humid season. Semi-arid mountain conditions submitting to atlantic influence, justify the choice of 1600 square kilometer test zone. The methodology of remote analysis, inspired by the Fralit studies, is adapted to this. Each situation is processed and voluntarily reduced in a classification of about 10 classes. The two classifications are then used to study the distribution of taxonomic content of the humid and dry seasons. This diachronic classification results in a new taxonomy of landscape elements. The didactic process is illustrated by three infographic maps reduced to a scale of 1:250,000.
