Eiskeile in Sanden bei Duelmen (Westfalen)

, : Eiskeile in Sanden bei Duelmen (Westfalen). Geologische Rundschau 40(1): 51-55

Differences in the shape, filling, and extent of displacement shown by sand-filled ice wedges in fluviatile arenaceous sediments near Duelmen, Westphalia, Germany, are attributed to variations in the frequency of fissuring and in the amount of sand introduced by meltwaters into the wedges. Differences in the nature of the enclosing beds and the fissure filling must be considered when inferring the climatic conditions on the basis of the size of ice wedges in different regions.
