Noevenymaradvanyos felsokarbon kavicsok a Mecsek-hegyseg helveti kavicsoesszletebol

, : Noevenymaradvanyos felsokarbon kavicsok a Mecsek-hegyseg helveti kavicsoesszletebol. Foldtani Kozlony 90(4): 456-458

During the investigation of a pebble layer in the northeast part of the Bakony mountains in Hungary, black, sericitic slate pebbles were found with good impressions of fossil plants. The impressions were of Alethopteris aquilina, Neuropteris microphylla, Pecopteris sp., and Calamites sp. These are generally known from the Carboniferous, but are also known at the beginning of the Permian. On the basis of additional geologic evidence the pebbles are considered to be upper Carboniferous.
