Describes holes and tubular tunnels in the Ordovician oolitic iron ores of lower Normandy, France, that are the result of the action of burrowing animals. These are found in the hematite, in the carbonate, and in the chloritic partings throughout the entire thickness of the ore. Their wide horizontal and vertical distribution illustrates the importance of the biologic factor in the diagenesis of sediments.
