On the age of Zhuzhangzi Group and Shuangshanzi Group, eastern Hebei

, : On the age of Zhuzhangzi Group and Shuangshanzi Group, eastern Hebei. Huabei Dizhi Kuangchan Zazhi = Journal of Geology and Mineral Resources of North China 11(1): 60-64

The Shuangshanzi and Zhuzhangzi groups are a suite of low-grade amphibolite facies to high-grade green schist facies metamorphic rocks with blastostructure well preserved in the Shuangshanzi area of Qinglong County, Hebei Province, and cover an area of 40 km long and 14 km wide. It was considered by many geologists that from Late Archean to Early Proterozoic the Anziling complex terrain in the east and the Qianxi Group gneiss terrain in the west are two uplifted areas, while the Shuangshanzi region developed into a rift depression, which controlled the deposition of the Shuangshanzi and Zhuzhangzi Groups. The Rb-Sr whole-rock isochron ages of the two groups are 2452 Ma and 2446 Ma, respectively. The distribution area of the Shuangshanzi and Zhuzhangzi groups may be much larger than the present exposure. The ages of the Shuangshanzi and Zhuzhangzi groups should belong to Late Archean.
