Probable inorganic origin of oil and gas in eastern Siberia

, : Probable inorganic origin of oil and gas in eastern Siberia. Geologiya Nefti i Gaza 2002(6): 51-56

The article presents analysis of criteria of inorganic oil and gas origin using as an example of East Siberia-Nepsko-Botuobinsky anteclise of Siberian platform and different-aged rifts of its framing. Principal recommendations in changing strategy of HC exploration from position of inorganic hypothesis of oil and gas genetics reduce to a detailed study of regional tectonics, concentration of exploration within the deep fault zones and points of their intersection including the basement of platform and rifts, petrographic and geochemical studies of zonality in naphthide distribution, oil and gas prospecting at large depths (up to 10-15 km), revealing known and new types of traps, geophysical investigation of tectonics and the Earth's crust structure for its whole thickness as well as upper mantle.
