Problems and prospects of development of engineering geology

, : Problems and prospects of development of engineering geology. Geoekologiya (Moskva) 1991(1): 3-15

The paper considers the fundamental problems of engineering geology. The solution of these problems is in agreement with the requirements of scientific and technical progress. The study of geologic bodies as multilevel structured systems, prediction of the development of the natural and geodynamic technogenic processes, development of a geologic conception of the range of industrial objects with a higher ecological hazard, and safe waste disposal are related to these problems. The content of the listed problems and the main problems of engineering geology in their realization are considered. It is noted that engineering geology comes into the critical stage of its development, when the principally new approach to the interrelation between society and environmental geology is developed.
