Subsurface study of Morrowan rocks in central and southern Beaver County, Oklahoma

, : Subsurface study of Morrowan rocks in central and southern Beaver County, Oklahoma. Shale Shaker 14(9): 2-12

Subsurface stratigraphy and structure of pre-Morrow and post-Morrow Paleozoic rocks are briefly reviewed. Rocks of the Pennsylvanian Morrow Series and their relations with the underlying Mississippian Chester Series are the object of detailed study, based primarily on electric logs, sample logs, and drill cuttings. Structure contour, isopach, and sand percentage maps and correlation cross sections are presented for the Morrow Series, each with explanatory text. Regional tectonic features and geologic history are summarized, and oil and gas possibilities are discussed.
