Triassic magmatism of eastern part of Scythian Plate

, : Triassic magmatism of eastern part of Scythian Plate. Byulleten' Moskovskogo Obshchestva Ispytateley Prirody, Otdel Geologicheskiy 76(5): 55-68

The detailed description of the geological setting, chemical composition, and microstructures of the Triassic igneous rocks from the subsurface of the Eastern Caucasus region is given. Two different episodes of magmatic activity are distinguished: Induan-Anisian (acidic magmatic explosions to the south of recent Kuma River and the bimodal submarine volcanism along the southern margin of the Karpinsky swell) and Late Triassic, probably Norian-Rhaetian (vast subaeral eruptions of rhyolites, dacites and andesites in the greater part of the Kuma Area). The data obtained permit to correct the existing paleogeodynamic reconstructions.
