Investigacion Pesquera (Barcelona): 481: 31-40

The dinoflagellate G. catenatum Graham was collected for the 1st time in the Galician Rias Baixas in Oct. 1976, during an outbreak of paralytic shellfish poisoning. A description of the organism based on in vivo examination with light microscopy and on scanning electron microscopy observations is presented. The possible toxicity of G. catenatum is discussed.
