A new ant species in the genus Lasius (Cautolasius) is described from the greek island of Evia. It is the third species of Cautolasius in the West Palearctic myrmecofauna, distinguished from all the other species in the subgenus by a combination of small size, very small eyes and a peculiar pattern of chaetotaxy.
