Picusluglio-dicembre; 29(2): 137-141

Breeding of Sparrowhawk Accipiter nisus and Eurasian Hobby Falco subbuteo in poplar plantations in Mantua Province, N Italy. After the first breedings of Sparrowhawk Accipiter nisus and Eurasian Hobby Falco subbuteo in the 2000 in poplar plantations in Mantua Province, in the next breeding season it has been carried out a research along the most important rivers of the province to confirm the phenomenon; the two breeding pairs of Eurasian Hobby and other individuals observed make as suppose more diffuse presences, even if they are not comparable to the West Lombardy density. The seven breeding pairs of Sparrowhawk suggest dose presences along the most important rivers of the Po River Plain.
