Preliminary observations on the isolated micromeres from sea urchin embryos

, : Preliminary observations on the isolated micromeres from sea urchin embryos. Experimental Cell Research 53(1): 177-183

Micromeres of sea urchin (Paracentrotus lividus) have been isolated and cultured. They give rise to aggregates similar to morulae. Electron microscopic observations show that the cells give rise to syncythia thus exhibiting a behaviour similar to that of the cells of the primary mesenchyme.
