, : Premieres donnees sur l'imaginaison haute en couleurs de deux cigales asiennes, Tosena splendida Distant et Huechys sanguinea (Degeer). mise au point conceptuelle a propos de cet evenement (Insecta, Cicadidae). Lambillionea embre; 106(3): 373-381 (Tome I)

Tosena splendida Distant, 1878, and Hueck ,s sanguinea (Degeer, 1773) are two cicadas' species described since a long time, but stayed up till today specimens of collection, or objects of public utility. The first, pluricoloured, is one of the jewels of entomic nature, and the second, in its surprising red and black livery, is for a very long time involved in the Chinese pharmacopoeia. To Cicadas, of which a subterranean embryonic life opposes to an aerial adult life, the change larva - imago is qualified by the peculiar expression " incomplete metamorphosis ". Observation and photographic follow through, for the first time in natura of this spectacular organogenic transition, led to revise the defining concept of this event. So, this ultimate post-embryonic instar, that concludes masterfully in these insects an outside imaginal hatching, cannot be likened to a metamorphosis, but exactly to a morphologic completion, or "imagination".
