Premiers resultats de l'etude des micromammiferes du Monte Tuttavista (Orosei, Sardaigne, Italie)

, : Premiers resultats de l'etude des micromammiferes du Monte Tuttavista (Orosei, Sardaigne, Italie). Bulletin de la Societe des Sciences Historiques and Naturelles de la Corse 696-697: 257-275

Many questions are still unanswered about the evolution of the micromammals during the Quaternary in the Mediterranean islands. In order to characterize the biological transformations of these insular micromammals and to make a biochronological model for the Quaternary of Sardinia, we have studied by some biometric and morphologic observations, the bones and the teeth of the Rodents, Insectivora and Lagomorpha from the Monte Tuttavista's karst. If every group has one's own way of developing, common trends can be derived. After, all the Rodent, and the Insectivora, have the same scheme of evolution : from a small and morphological primitive form, we have a rather fast augmentation of the height and the acquisition of a peculiar morphology. These results have permitted a for the Quaternary of Sardinia.
