South American Coccinellidae (Coleoptera). Part IX: a systematic revision of Scymnobius Casey (Scymninae: Scymnini)

, : South American Coccinellidae (Coleoptera). Part IX: a systematic revision of Scymnobius Casey (Scymninae: Scymnini). Frustula Entomologica. 2002( ); 2538: 57-85

The taxonomy of South American Scymnobius species is revised and Scymnobius elevated from subgeneric to generic status. A key to species, illustrations, synonymies, and descriptions are provided. Scymnobius ocellatus (Sharp) is recognized as a junior synonym of Scymnobius galapagoensis (Waterhouse). Newly described species are Scymnobius aricaensis, S. triangularis, S. araguaensis, S. caliginosus, S. scalesius, S. ecuadoricus, S. rotundus, and S. imitator.
