Anthropometrical study on public workers

, : Anthropometrical study on public workers. Jour Formosan Med Assoc 49(4): 152-155

118 public workers were measured anthropometrically in 1948. The results in comparison with students, athletes and farmers are presented as follows: In comparison with students and athletes, the public workers, like farmers, are of low stature and short legs, and their thighs, calves and forearms are small in girth. They have broad and especially deep chests, and relatively well developed upper arms. These physical diffs. of public workers are more distinct with the students than with the athletes, but are not so definite as the diffs. between farmers and both the students and the athletes. Public workers characteristically have narrower shoulders than the other 3 classes.
