Basal cell carcinoma of the vulva

, : Basal cell carcinoma of the vulva. Obstet And Gynecol 4(4): 392-398

This paper presents 3 case reports of basal cell carcinoma of the vulva found in reviewing 70 carcinomas of the vulva which were treated at the University Hospitals of Cleveland from 1924 to 1953. The origin, nature, behavior, and treatment of this lesion are discussed. Basal cell carcinoma is usually easily recognized by microscopic study and must not be confused with transitional cell, basosquamous, or squamous cell carcinoma. The treatment of choice for this lesion is probably wide local excision.
