Birds of Little Diomede Island, Alaska

, : Birds of Little Diomede Island, Alaska. Condor 62(6): 457-463

During spring study periods in 1953 and 1958, on Little Diomede, 40 spp. of birds were recorded, 13 of which are known to breed there. The island lies on the route of birds which winter in North America and Asia, and cross Bering Strait, mostly in the last half of May, to breeding grounds. At least 8 of the spp. listed had not previously been recorded from Little Diomede; and 1 spp., An thus cervinus, of which 2 specimens were taken in 1958, is represented on the North American list by only 3 other specimens.
