New forms described are: Mellicta varia H.-S., f. nigrocingulata. Under side hind wings: the central band on both sides and along the nervures bordered by thick lines, resulting in a chain of pale spots with black circumscriptions. Melitaea phoebe Schiff., f. brunnea. Markings on upper and under side of the wings brown instead of black, f. flavo-marginata. In the black marginal band is in each cell an oblong pale yellow spot, separated from the fringe by a thin black line. f. nigro-maculata. Under side hind wings; the basal spots with thick blacf rffigsTTJaoreover the subterminal and terminal lines are absent.
