Changes of rooting response in cuttings followed exposure of the stock plants to light of different qualities

, : Changes of rooting response in cuttings followed exposure of the stock plants to light of different qualities. Proc Amer Soc Hort Sci 49: 392-393

Cuttings of Gordonia axillaris taken from greenhouse grown plants in winter exhibited excessive callus and poor root formation. Cuttings from stock plants grown under daylight fluorescent lamps using a 16-hr. daylength from Dec. 6th to Jan. 14th behaved similarly. However, cuttings taken from plants under blue fluorescent lamps rooted heavily with little formation of callus.
