Corynebacterium equi in the submaxillary lymph nodes of swine

, : Corynebacterium equi in the submaxillary lymph nodes of swine. Jour Comp Path And Therap 53(4): 298-309

A report of the isolation of C. equi from the submaxillary lymph nodes of 8 swine with tuberculosis-like lesions and from a normal lymph node. In 5 cases the Corynebacterium was associated with tubercle bacilli. Oral and intraven. administration of living suspensions of C. equi are said to have failed to produce lesions and subcut. inoculation produced only local abscess formation. Evidently C. equi is not concerned in the etiology of tuberculosis-like lesions in submaxillary lymph nodes of swine.
