Determining focal infection in tonsils by means of skin electrometry

, : Determining focal infection in tonsils by means of skin electrometry. Scripta Med [brno] 33(8): 307-315

The skin-electrometric method in question proved useful as a means of functional diagnosis in cases of injuries to the soft parts of the joints, and also in stomatology when location changes are being determined. On the basis of our material (133 patients with pathological changes in palatine tonsils) we may conclude that this method is not void of significance even in determining protracted tonsillar changes in otolaryngology. To be sure, we do not recommend it as a substitute of the hitherto practiced thorough diagnostic procedure when finding indications for TE, on the contrary, we point out its drawbacks. There is no doubt that focal diagnosis still represents a serious problem, and the wider is the scope of examination, the better. For this reason we consider our method, which we intend to test and elaborate further, employing still more numerous clinical material, as an auxiliary diagnostic means, suitably supplementing the hitherto practiced forms of diagnosing.
