Die Schilddriise und ihr Einfluss auf die Gallensekretion und auf den Gehalt der Galle an Cholesterin

, : Die Schilddriise und ihr Einfluss auf die Gallensekretion und auf den Gehalt der Galle an Cholesterin. Zeitschr Ges Exp Med 87(1/2): 52-57

A sharp decrease in bile secretion which lasted several days followed subcut. injection of 1-2 mgm. thyroxin (daily 24-hr. bile samples from 2 common duct fistula dogs; daily 3-hr. samples from 3 partial fistula dogs). Cholesterol (Auten-rieth method) decreased either parallel to or more markedly than bile. Thyroidectomy was followed by increase in bile secretion and an especially distinct increase in cholesterol which lasted for some time. Tetra-hydro-[beta]-naphthylamine, a sympathicotropic drug, reduced bile secretion somewhat and cholesterol noticeably, from which it is concluded that thyroxin exerts a sympathetic nervous system action on the liver. Gyncrgen, also a sympathicotrope, exerted practically no action on bile secretion, none on cholesterol. It is concluded that the thyroid is a regulator both of hepatic secretion and of cholesterol metabolism.

The most common species were Trichuris vulpis, Dirofilari...
