Differences in the zooplankton of Lake Maggiore

, : Differences in the zooplankton of Lake Maggiore. Mem Ist Ital Idrobiol 15: 137-151

Samples were collected from Sept. 1957 to Sept. 1958 at monthly intervals at 12 stations from 0 to 50 using Clarke-Bumpus plankton samplers. Theoretical ecological considerations are given on the degree of organization of the ecosystem, based on the abundance and the number of constituents. A mathematical analysis of the data referred to the samples of each station gives the degree of heterogeneity in bits/individual and in bits/liter.
