Dynamic aortic diameter measurements in vivo

, : Dynamic aortic diameter measurements in vivo. Computers and Biomedical Research, An International Journal 1(1): 52-64

A method is described for measurement of the dynamic changes in internal aortic diameter following injection upstream of a radiopaque dye. The method makes use of information available in a video-angiocardiogram and requires special computer techniques to suppress total system noise. Tests have demonstrated the limits of accuracy and show it to be a useful technique that might be effectively applied in health and disease and to other structures as well.
