, : Effect of diet reduction on the condition of the cardio-yascular system in obese patients. Vop Pitan 26(4): 35-40

On the basis of clinical, biochemical, roentgenological and electrocardiographic investigations the symptomatology and factors responsible for the lesion of the heart and vessels in obese patients are analyzed. Particular attention is given to a special low-calorie diet developed by the department of dietary cure of the Nutrition Institute of the AMS of the USSR. It produced a beneficial effect on the general condition of patients suffering from obesity and, chiefly, on dynamic changes in the cardiovascular system.
