Effect of starvation on contents of water, nitrogen and lipids of tissues of Varanus grlseus, Daud

, : Effect of starvation on contents of water, nitrogen and lipids of tissues of Varanus grlseus, Daud. Zeitschr Vergl Physiol 42(4): 410-414

The most active tissues, such as the brain, spinal cord, lungs and heart, show a negligible loss in their content of N, water and lipids in starvation conditions. All tissues, other than those mentioned above, showed a noticable loss in their N and lipid content as a result of starvation. Starvation wad followed by a slight decrease in the water content of nearly all the tissues of the body.
