Further considerations on the topical and general use of Mycostatin in some dermatoses

, : Further considerations on the topical and general use of Mycostatin in some dermatoses. Giorn Mal Infett E Parassit 9(7): 459-461

Fifty cases were treated and tolerance found excellent. Forty cases were treated topically with Mycostatin (nystatin) ointment (100,000 units/g). Five cases were treated with 4 tablets of 500,000 units each per day. The remaining 5 cases were given oral and topical treatment. Of the 40 cases, 35% were cured, 50% clearly improved and 85% showed some improvement. In both the other groups, 4 out of 5 cases were cured. The author concluded that both routes of administration were effective.
