Further studies on the influence of the ingestion of meat on the respiratory metabolism after different treatments of rats with reference to the liver function

, : Further studies on the influence of the ingestion of meat on the respiratory metabolism after different treatments of rats with reference to the liver function. Biochem Zeitschr 191(1/3): 13-33

Respiratory experiments on 6 rats indicate that after a week of a meat and peptone diet the ingestion of meat has a pronounced specific dynamic effect, and that this effect is still greater if phlorhi-zin has been injected several days. The author connects these observations with a theory of increased stimulation of the liver causing the increased specific dynamic effect.
