Interrelationships between various analyzers in Teleostei

, : Interrelationships between various analyzers in Teleostei. Zh Vyssh Nerv Deyatel Im I P Pavlova 15(5): 927-933

Relationships between various analyzers in the brain of fish (cruscian carp and goldfishes) were studied in acute experiments. Upon the action on the system of one analyzer (strychninization of the brain surface, electrical and photic stimulation), the evoke potential in the system of another analyser in response to a corresponding stimulus decreases in amplitude and increases in latency. Section of the brain-stem at the level of the IV ventricle and nembutal anesthesia remove the effect. The assumption has been made that the connection between the analyzers is of a polysynaptic nature and that the reticular system of the medulla is involved in the observed phenomena.
