Is there a hepatic stage in the development of schistosomes in man?

, : Is there a hepatic stage in the development of schistosomes in man?. Jour Egypt Med Assoc 11(6): 212-249

The writer believes that, while Schistosoma mansoni and S. haematobium may gain entrance to the body through any of the mucous membranes or skin surfaces, natural infections with the skin at least are through the perineum. He believes that cercaria penetrating elsewhere do not usually develop; that normally there is no hepatic stage in schistosome development; no extensive migration through the circulatory system.
