Karyological study of Steropleurus dilutus Bol

, : Karyological study of Steropleurus dilutus Bol. Rev Acad Cienc Exact Fis Quim Nat Zarogoza Ser 2a 17(1): 177-183

Analysis of the chromosomes of this sp. shows a karyotype of n=14 autosomes for both male and female, with only a single heterochromosome for the male and 2 heterochromosomes for the female in the diploid form. Four different types of chromosomes were observed: metacentric, acrocentric, acrocentric ellipsoidal, and acrocentric needle-form. Each nucleus contains about 13-15 chiasmata.
