Neuroblastoma And The Coeliac Triad

, : Neuroblastoma And The Coeliac Triad. Scottish Medical Journal 10: 65-69

A case is described in which a child presented with the coeliac triad - diarrhoea, wasting and abdominal distension. The cause was found to be a hormonally active neural crest tumour producing abnormal motility of the colon. The mechanism of the diarrhea is discussed. It is suggested that neuroblastoma accompanied by this symptom carries an unusually good prognosis.
