The pharmacological and physiological action of quinidine, quinidine lactate, quinidine sulfate, synthetic quinidine and dihydroquinidine is given. Use of these substances is not only indicated in persistent auricular fibrillation but also to control prolonged and resistant arrhythmias as well as to prevent all paroxysmal arrhythmias.
