Observations of the urease activity of Proteus OX19 and anamnestic reaction as well as electrophoretic seroprotein pattern in rabbits immunized therewith

, : Observations of the urease activity of Proteus OX19 and anamnestic reaction as well as electrophoretic seroprotein pattern in rabbits immunized therewith. Endemic Dis Bull Nagasaki Univ 2(1): 1-15

Urease activity of Proteus OX19 was greatly inhibited by antiserum to OX19 but not by antiserum to Rickettsia. Rabbits previously immunized with Proteus OX19 showed anamnestic reaction to OX19 when reinjected with 1.0 ml of R. prowazekii vaccine. No anamnestic response was observed with Staphylococcus aureus. Rabbits immunized with rickettsial vaccine when challenged with 1.0 mg of OX19 cells produced agglutinin more rapidly and to a higher titer than normal rabbits.
