Parasites of pronymphs and pupae of the caterpillar in Yugoslavia in 1957

, : Parasites of pronymphs and pupae of the caterpillar in Yugoslavia in 1957. Plant Protection [belgrade] 41/42: 49-52

In 1957 the gypsy moth gradation entered its crisis in several places of Yugoslavia. Among other factors, the parasites, too, played a prominent part in the reduction of the overcrowded populations of this species. As their action appears only in final stages of the gypsy moth development, the authors collected, on the whole territory of Yugoslavia, a great number of pronymphs and pupae which were analyzed with regard to the parasitic fauna. It was observed that various species of the family of Sarcophagidae were again most represented (74.9%). After them came, in order of numbers, Tachinidae (25.1%). All species of the genus Hymenoptera participated with 1.4%. Following species of Tachinidae were observed: Blepharipoda scutellata R. et D. (80.6%), Phorocera agilis R. et C. (16.7%), Compsilura concinata Maigen (1.290, Carcelia excisa v. separata Rond. (1.0%), Drino inconspicua Meigen (0.4%), Exorista larvarum L. (0.1%). Ichneumonidae: (Ichneumon disparis Poda (30.6%), Theronia catalantae family Ichneumonidae: Ichnenmon disporis Poda (30.6%), Theoronia atalantae Poda (63.9%), Pimpla examinator F, P. rujata Gm. and P. instigator F (3.5%). Family Chalcididae were represented with 7.5%.
