Particularites biologiques de la metacercaire de Posthodiplostomum cuticola

, : Particularites biologiques de la metacercaire de Posthodiplostomum cuticola. Ann Parasitol Humaine Et Comp 17(4): 332-335

At certain places in the vicinity of Strasbourg 80-90% of white fish are infested with the metacercariae. When the fish were kept at temps. below zero, the parasite died very quickly. It resisted putrefaction for at least 3 days in the host; 4-5 days in fragments of fish in physiological salt soln. Isolated cysts lived 67 days in sterile physiol. soln., 44-60 days in plasma and tissue fluid. Cysts were transplanted into other fish and the axolotl; they survived for some weeks in perch and carp. Cysts opened in a digestive fluid (pepsin, HC1) at 37[degree]. A possible development of metacercariae was observed in physiological salt solution at 37[degree].

Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) is produced by neurons in the rat hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) and may have an important role as a prolactin-releasing factor. Recent work from our laboratories has shown that thyroid hormone r...

The development of molecular water oxidation catalysts based on earth-abundant, non-noble metals is essential for artificial photosynthesis research. Iron, which is the most abundant transition metal in the earth's crust, is a prospective can...
